The hinged door systems are fairly simple and straightforward. The only points to note are these:
Check the boxes delivered are what you ordered. There will be a lot and we have included here a list of what to check
Just because you saw it in the store or in the catalogue doesn't mean the combination shown is possible. This is not strictly true, but a sliding door internal layour may not work with hinged doors and similarly a hinged door layout won't always work with sldiing doors. This is not always obvious - see below.
The hinges are usually sold with the doors but always packaged separately.
The corner wardrobe comes with hinges for its door and the two doors that will open either side of it. These are different to the standard hinges and move in a way when opened so as not to catch. They also have a push buttom system and therefore do not need a handle (one should not be fitted either).
The handles are always sold separately except for the Vikdel mirrored doors, which come with a chrome half mood handle. Holes need to be drilled in the doors for the handles as there are several different sizes.
Things that catch you out - the hinges!
The main one is that the bottom hinges occupy holes 3 and 4 when counting from the bottom. So you cannot put a drawer at the bottom on the hinged door system. The lowest level you can put a drawer is at hole 5, in practice you do this at hole 7 as Ikea have designa wire basket to go on the lowest level of your wardrobe to circumvent this problem.
There are three hinges on each door on the 201cm high. The middle hinge pair occupy three holes as they are higher on the left than on the right. On the 236cm high ones there are 4 hinges and these occupy 2 extra pairs of holes. Wherever these go you cannot put any internal fittings. You cannot put any drawers that over lap them either. unfortunately Ikea staff and their electronic planner does not always accont for this, so check what you are putting where with repsect to the hinges in the middle. usually it doesn't matter as this is more often than not hanging space, but you should look out if you have a lot of drawers or the jewelry trays as these can often be desired at this height.
